While we couldn’t celebrate our 2019 Shining Stars at our annual, in-person event last year due to COVID-19, that didn’t stop our staff from recognizing their major achievements. Here’s our 2019 Shining Stars:
Barbara Banks Customer Service Award- LaTonya Salley
For her excellent customer service and positive influence on those around her, Palmetto Goodwill is proud to recognize LaTonya Salley as the Barbara Banks Customer Service Award recipient. Read more in our annual report.
Employee of the Year – Peri Schmerbeck
Peri Schmerbeck is a key member of the Palmetto Goodwill (PGS) team, who provides support, case management, and career guidance to more than 120 AbilityOne program participants. Read more in our annual report.
Achiever of the Year – Drew Moore
The Achiever of the Year Award was established to honor an outstanding individual with a disability or disadvantaging condition, who has shown great progress and accomplishment in overcoming barriers to employment. Drew Moore’s path to receiving this award has been nothing short of a miracle. Check out this video for more of Drew’s story.
Goodwill Works! Award – Donald Croker
The Goodwill Works! Award honors an outstanding individual, who has shown great progress and accomplishment while still benefiting from the Goodwill work environment. As an exemplary employee admired by his supervisors and co-workers, Donald Croker certainly fits that description. Check out this video for more on Donald’s story.
Graduate of the Year – Najiyyah Shakir
The Graduate of the Year is awarded to somebody, who has not only completed a Palmetto Goodwill job training program, but is also deserving of recognition for outstanding achievement in overcoming obstacles to attaining and maintaining meaningful employment.
