Tropical Storm Debby Updates

Operational Update: Contract Services – Aug. 8 – 6:00 p.m.

Joint Base Charleston locations resume normal operations Friday, Aug 9.  Installation access restrictions during Tropical Storm Debby are no longer in effect.

Upon return to the installation, contractors with Government Furnished Facilities (Office space, Warehousing, Laydown Sites) must report damage within their facilities or physical obstructions preventing contract performance to the Contract Specialist and to the Contracting Officers Representative immediately.  Questions concerning resumption of normal operations should be directed to the Contract Specialist.

Thank you for your patience and attention this week as we navigated the potential impacts of Tropical Storm Debby. On Thursday, Aug. 8, Palmetto Goodwill locations will return to normal operations and hours. If this changes, you will receive an update during the 6:00 hour tomorrow morning. Some Palmetto Goodwill Services locations are operating on adjusted schedules. You can view that information at the weather alert link below. After carefully monitoring weather and travel conditions overnight and this morning, the leadership team has decided to open all Palmetto Goodwill locations (retail, warehouse, Career Opportunity Centers) at 11:00 a.m. today.

As always, the safety of you and your family are most important to us. If conditions would make it dangerous for you to report to your work location,  or if you feel unsafe traveling, please contact your supervisor to discuss your situation. Safety comes first.

As of this evening, we are planning for a delayed opening at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday for all Palmetto Goodwill locations (retail stores, warehouses, main office, and Career Opportunity Centers).
The leadership team is continuing to carefully monitor conditions and the decision for a delayed opening tomorrow could change. The 6:00 a.m. communication will contain any updated information.

This update provides new information for Palmetto Goodwill Services sites since our 6:00 a.m. update below.

  • The following sites are closed today: 301, 302, 304, 305, 306, 390, 395.
  • The following sites are open today: 392, 393 ( No Mid Rats Mon-Wed; wait and see about Thur.), 397, 398, 399.

All Palmetto Goodwill stores, warehouses, Career Opportunity Centers and main office locations will be closed on 8/6/2025 due to deteriorating weather conditions. Those who can work from home, please do so. The safety of our team and your families is our top priority.
