American Sign Language (ASL) Training
Palmetto Goodwill Services is excited to offer American Sign Language (ASL) Level One and Level Two training! Throughout both these classes, students will learn to:
- Expand and increase ASL day to day vocabulary
- Understand ASL grammar and sentence structure
- Further understand deaf communication and context
All sessions are facilitated on Zoom and are open to anyone across the United States.

The ASL 2 class was absolutely a must. The class was the highlight of my work week and I enjoyed the diversity in the class. This course has a practical approach to ASL and was fun even after a full day of work. Our instructor encouraged us to use our skills in class and out in the community. She inspired the class to continually learn and love the Deaf community. Our whole division took ASL as it was a goal for our organization this year. We practice together and I now use my new skills in my work with my Deaf clients. It is so empowering to communicate with them.

Two of my clients are hearing impaired and multiple others are non verbal. I have been working with them on basic signs I could find and learn. However I didn’t always have much confidence with it. Now, having taken the class with Ms. Sonia I am happy to report that I am much more confident in what I am teaching my guys and they are learning much faster. Recently my hardest client signed to me spontaneously with out prompting and made his request clear! It was a breakthrough moment for us and my heart was filled with joy!
