Taking your Wardrobe from Work to Weekend

 In Thrifty Fashion

Many of us have the items in our closet divided into two main categories – work and weekend. While some items such as shorts, flip flops and revealing tanks or dresses must stay reserved for time away from the office, many items are much more versatile than you think.

Here are a few simple tips to maximize your current wardrobe and help you shop for items that will give you the most bang for your buck:

  • Keep your staples simple. A simple black shift dress or pair of sophisticated pumps can work at the office or for a night on the town when styled correctly. When you are buying staple pieces, stick to basic colors and styles. You can mix up your look in other ways (which we’ll discuss shortly). If your office allows you to wear jeans, opt for a sleek pair of dark jeans over the faded, distressed variety. These will look professional and polished at the office but can easily be dressed down for casual weekend outings.
  • Mix and match. Think about pairing items with something more casual or dressy to transform your entire look. For example, a flowing blouse that you typically wear with dress pants would probably look awesome with shorts or used as a chic cover-up. Throwing a denim jacket over a dress or pairing it phentermine with sandals can make it perfect for daytime and you can easily change into heels and add some sparkly jewelry as your transition to night. On the flip side, a t-shirt you generally throw on to run errands can quickly become office appropriate when worn with dressier shoes and jewelry.
  • Stock up on accessories! These don’t have to be expensive and you can usually find a large selection at your local Goodwill. Cinching a wide belt over a sun dress or adding a chunky necklace and a blazer to a sun dress can help you easily take your outfit from work to weekend and back to Monday morning.

Getting the most out every item in your closet is really all about creativity. The more you can think outside the box and play around with different looks, the larger your wardrobe will seem.
