Myrtle Beach, SCThe Palmetto Goodwill and North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce Job Fair, held a the Myrtle Beach Mall, brought more than 500 job seekers in contact with 30 area businesses.

 

Held at 1 p.m. March 1, the 2nd Annual Job Fair connected job seekers with 30 area employers recruiting for more than 1,278 positions in the Grand Strand.

 

A few of the employers that participated included the Hilton Embassy Suites, City of North Myrtle Beach, Marriot Ocean Watch, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! and Myrtle Beach Manner. Employers accepted 1,346 applications during the Job Fair and hired 17 individuals on site.

 

“Goodwill’s mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work,” said Robert Smith, president and CEO of Palmetto Goodwill. “Bringing job seekers in contact with area employers helps us to further achieve that mission.”

 

The Job Fair included a Palmetto Goodwill display showing job seekers how to dress for interviews on a budget and SC Works provided on-site workshops to assist job seekers with resume building, interview skills and dressing for success.

 

Palmetto Goodwill is a nonprofit social service organization whose mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work. Over 90 percent of Goodwill’s revenue goes to fund mission related services. Goodwill serves their mission by providing career counseling, job training, and other employment related programs to people with barriers to employment.
